Welcome to Stabilize, a site created for people with Type 1 Diabetes, by people with Type 1 Diabetes.
I am Nathan. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1978 at the age of three. Thirty-nine years later, I feel now that the time is right to try to help others with their struggles with Type 1 Diabetes. (Type 2’s are more than welcome to share their experiences too)
Through my years I have experienced many high’s & low’s, not only in sugar control, but mental health and retinopathy. Even though I have had the support of amazing family and friends, I have still at many times down the road felt alone. How my Fiancé, Jessica Johnstone puts up with my constant mood swings, the good Lord only knows.
With this website, I hope to achieve a platform where we with Diabetes and our family members can share our good & bad experiences and also how we all cope with our daily challenges. We all know that no day is the same when living with Diabetes, and I am hoping that some guests will be keen to share their experiences.
I am a volunteer speaker for Diabetes UK and hope to arrange some events, talks and fun days for the people of Swindon who are affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Please like and share the Stabilize Facebook page.
Lastly, if you are wondering what the Link to the Go Moriarty album - Welcome to the Real World, is all about. This local Highworth band have a contract with Diabetes UK to donate all profit from their digital album to the charity. During my thirty nine years of living with Diabetes, I have seen many breakthroughs in treatment and technology thanks to charity's such as Diabetes UK. A brief history my journey can be seen via a link on my home page.
